New website launched by the Department of Education, Jammu University.   Departmental library is also being automised.   New Conferance room is also being set up in the Department.

The department of Education was established in 1973. The department started M.ed classes of 1 year with an intake of 25 students along with one professor and 4 lecturers to cater to the needs of the students in sharing the teaching responsibility.Later another class of M.A education 2 year course was started in the year 1978 with an intake capacity of 50 students. Third class was started to build up a logical continuity for large no. of students passing education as subject in B.A. level.

The department holds many activities as per calender of the University. The huge no. of students in three classes viz., M.A education 1st and 2nd year as well as M.Ed students remain involved assiduously in their studies. The students are trained in writing assignments, appear in class tests etc. The students are made to use library facilies and are groomed, sensitized and given practical training in teaching and research through important components of course viz.,dissertation, practicum and microteaching
